2015 Rosie Network GiveBack Challenge

According to the SBA, Veterans make up nearly 10% of all small business owners, and are more likely to succeed than their civilian counterparts. In addition, military spouse businesses support military families during transition from service and keep our military families strong.

The Holiday Season generates nearly 80% of most nonprofit's individual gifts for the year. A successful year-end giving campaign is critical to The Rosie Network and will enable us to continue our mission of building stronger military families through entrepreneurship.

In 2015, we provided no-cost services to over 5,000 military spouses and veterans. Our total financial impact to military families exceeded $4.2 MILLION dollars. These are funds they earned as a direct result of our efforts, and we’re only getting started.

A Military Spouse Story - Alexandra G...
"I met The Rosie Network team two years ago. My husband was deployed and we had just moved for the third time, with a family and no job or support. For years I had tried to get a job in my field, but being a military spouse raising a child made it difficult. I met Stephanie on the embarrassing day I was at the base in line for the "free" bread truck. She inspired me to start my own graphic design company. Starting wasn't easy and we couldn't even afford a computer.

This is where the Rosie Network stepped in. They provided me with the computer and tools I needed to open my business. That alone was great, but they really wanted me to succeed. They mentored me and made key introductions that would later turn into paying clients. No one (other than my husband) has made more of an impact in our quality of life than The Rosie Network team."

In 2016, our online eCommerce platform, or ‘Marketplace’ (in partnership with First Data) will be up & running. Our quarterly publication, ME MAG (sponsored by USAA) will have seen its first issue and in January 2016, the doors to San Diego’s first military entrepreneur shared office incubator, the ‘LaunchPad’ will open to both veterans and military spouses.

Help us reach our GOAL of raising $50,000 by joining The Rosie Network’s 2015 Give Back Challenge and sharing our message and cause with your friends, family and colleagues.

The Department of Defense paid over $1 billion in unemployment benefits last year. More than 1 million service members will be transitioning over the next three years, and more and more are turning to entrepreneurship as a viable career alternative. Entrepreneurship isn’t just good for our Veterans, Military Spouses and their families. It’s good for taxpayers. It’s good for America.

We are ready for 2016 but we need your help. Together, We Can Do It.
